We stayed in the 2-bedroom apartment for 7 weeks and loved it. The apartment is located down a residential street and in a very secured neighborhood. Walking distance to marine drive, the railway station, main road, restaurants, majestic city mall, grocery stores etc. The apartment had clean, good sized rooms with all the amenities. Good sized living and dining area, a well-equipped kitchen, WIFI (good quality) and cable TV. New linen is provided as and when requested. Apartment cleaning is done every other day for no extra charge. The staff (especially the property manager - Wimal) are genuinely concerned about customer satisfaction. I stayed in the spacious 3rd floor apartment. Fully furnished does not go far enough to describe what is available to you. There is no kitchen utensil missing, from plates, cutlery, potato peeler, strainer(large and small), microwave blender, etc... what ever I wanted to cook, the utensil was there. Same applies to the bathrooms and living area(eight seat dining table). And if you are unable to find something, they will get it for you. Location is extremely convenient, with a supermarket literally down the road and restaurants everywhere. Short distance to any major part of the city. Safe area, 24 manned security, card security system, CCTV cameras, and a safe comes with the room. Service is friendly and limitless, from the manager to the cleaning staff. It feels like everyone's objective is your comfort and peace of mind. Recommend to anyone, new to Colombo, who does not want to be cramped up in a hotel room, and wants to feel at home.

The owner / operator of Halahouse is a very pleasant and helpful gentleman. Everything we asked for, he provided, or found a way of getting it. We had 3 apartments for 13 people on 3 floors, with the 4th floor apartment offering a stunning view of the ocean. It is possible to walk to the center in about 30 minutes and there is a supermarket nearby and a few local places to eat. highly recommended. Additional mattresses would be nice though.

We were a group of colleagues staying at Halahouse for a week and were enchanted by our stay. Appartments are spotless, with all necessary amenities. The location is very convenient, 10 minutes away from Fort area, a minute away from the sea, and ideally located between the centre of Colombo and Beaches in Dehiwala and Mount Lavinia. The service is impeccable. The manager Mr Wimal is a true gentleman, always available to provide an informed advice and assist with logistical issues that one can face while travelling. Everything is arranged so guests feel at ease. Privacy is very high. An ideal option for a family or a group of friends. Very highly recommended!

We stayed at the Hala House Colombo Serviced Apartments for over a month’s time during July, for our business trip to Colombo. We arrived quite late at night and got my room quickly and it was ready when I arrived. The airport pickup was arranged upon request. Positives: Location: • The apartments in Kothelawela Gardens, very close to Marine Drive. • The Majestic City shopping Centre is located close to the apartments, with restaurants, cafes, a grocery store and retail stores. This was very convenient as we could quickly and easily walk to breakfast and collect some groceries. • There are also a regular city buses that go to many parts of Colombo from Vishaka Bus Stop. This meant that I could access the public transport easily. Appliances: • The apartment’s kitchen had a fridge, toaster, coffee machine, kettle and microwave, Gas Stove, utensils and cutlery. All of which worked well when we used them. • There was no dishwasher, but the housekeeping staff would wash the dishes every day (except on Saturday afternoon and Sunday). • The washing machine worked well and washing powder & Fabric Conditioner are to be bought. • The air-conditioners for each room worked well and were able to keep the rooms at comfortable temperatures in the hot and humid climate of Colombo. Room: • My room was on the 2nd storey and unfortunately had no view of the Indian Ocean. But all the apartments in 3rd and beyond may have had views towards Marine Drive and Indian Ocean. • All us were comfortable in the room (we had a three bedroom one), and there was plenty of room in the cupboards for everyone’s things. Service: • All the staff were really nice and willing to help us in any way that they could. Anything we asked for the apartment was brought quickly and they were very helpful in telling us how to get to some of the places we wanted to go to. • The local taxi drivers knew were the apartments were, we just had to say the name and they knew where to take us. Amenities: • The WIFI worked well and we were all able to connect to it. • A Gym is in the 5th floor and had all the basic equipment Dumbbells, Weight Plates, Benches, Cross ramp, Treadmill etc., Negatives: • It would have been nice to have an air conditioner / dehumidifier in the living room (also in the GYM) as the weather gets very humid at times. • An exhaust fan would have been useful in the bathroom to reduce the steam from the shower that added to the already humid temperature in the room. • If planning to stay long, the WiFi router’s monthly FUP is 25 GB. A higher FUP could have been better. But the Manager was very kind to provide his desk’s router when the data was exhausted. Thumps Up. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Hala House Colombo Serviced Apartments and would recommend it to anybody travelling to Colombo soon.
